About this property

Welcome to Telegraph Hotel

Set within a former newspaper building, Telegraph Hotel offers a blend of historic character and contemporary style in Coventry city centre. The hotel features air-conditioned rooms with a clean, retro-inspired design and some unique layouts, such as duplex suites. While many guests appreciate the spaciousness and comfort of the rooms, some have noted that certain accommodations, like the lower level of the duplex rooms, can feel darker and cooler, reflecting a mix of experiences.

A variety of facilities are available on site, including a restaurant and a bar with a welcoming atmosphere, complemented by a rooftop bar providing views over the city. The hotel maintains a smoke-free environment and offers free Wi-Fi throughout. Although there is no pool or fitness centre, the restaurant and bar areas are popular among both guests and locals, with positive mentions of friendly and attentive staff enhancing the overall stay.

The location is particularly convenient for visitors interested in exploring Coventry’s cultural highlights. Coventry Transport Museum is only a few minutes' walk away, while Coventry Cathedral and Warwick Castle are also easily accessible attractions. The hotel is about a 15-minute walk from Coventry train station, making it a practical base for those arriving by rail or travelling to nearby airports including Heathrow, London Gatwick, and London Stansted.

Telegraph Hotel may suit guests looking for a central, characterful place with practical amenities and a lively bar scene. It appeals especially to those who value city views and proximity to Coventry’s main points of interest. However, prospective visitors might want to consider room layout preferences and note that some areas can feel less bright or cozy, based on varied guest reviews.

Nice hotel near the town centre. We parked at the Belgrade plaza ncp. £13 pre booked. I agree with some other reviews in this list that the idea of the duplex room is good and have stayed in other hotels with this but here(room 54) it dosent. Lower part is very small with dark cold laminate and tiny settae. Very little natural light made it very dark. Up metal steps the bed and bathroom is very nice . Bed is huge. If one person wakes up early you will end up disturbing as you turn on lights etc. Breakfast was very nice buffet style serv yourself with lots of choice. Would choose a different style of room if stayed again

I’m beyond impressed. I stayed alone for work and chose the telegraph as last time I had an air B&B but found it lonely on my own. I came down to the bar on night one for a drink and some food and Jordan at the bar was bloomin fantastic! She made me feel so welcome and comfortable. I had the chicken supreme which was the most tasty dish I’ve had in a long time!! I came down again on the second night and was again greeted by Jordan. She even remembered my drink order. She’s an absolute credit to the hotel. The world would be a better place with more Jordans in it

Great rooms - clean, and nice touches to the rooms. Bathroom was a good size. Beds comfy. Quiet location. Breakfast - buffet was varied including sausage, bacon, fried egg, scrambled egg, tomatoes, beans, hash browns, croissants, toast, jam. Coffee machine included lovely hot chocolate. Orange and apple juice too. Cheese and meat selection. Staff were very friendly too, helped us out. Drinks in hotel were quite expensive

I rarely bother with reviews but I thought this hotel, for the price bracket, was brilliant. My room was spacious, the bed was huge and comfy and I loved the retro feel of the place. Great furniture and bathroom. Brilliant receptionists, great bar for an evening drink. Fantastic location. If I was ever up in Coventry again, I would definitely return.

Loved our stay at The Telegraph Hotel — a stylish, comfortable place with a really fun sense of history, set inside the iconic former home of Coventry’s Telegraph newspaper (the building housed the paper for more than 50 years). Clean, comfy rooms, friendly staff, and a great city-centre location — a hotel with real character. Would definitely stay again.

This is an amazing hotel so quirky and different! We stayed in the Lord Suite which had a jacuzzi, the room was very clean, spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The only feedback I would give would be to have a long mirror as there was not one in this room. The staff so friendly and helpful and the location is also great smack bang in the middle of everything. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are going to stay in Coventry and I will be staying again.

We had a duplex room (54) great inside I knocked a point off as I found downstairs to be cold which is a shame as it was a bigger tv and a nice sofa plus the kettle and fridge was there , heating upstairs was mega lovely .we went for a murder mystery which included a 3course meal and that was superb , all staff was great one member on reception was a bit matter of fact but one staff member against all the rest I can put up with . Lovely towels and shower . I would definitely go back to stay again .
